Nothing

Standard

I’m at a corner Mom and Pop store one Sunday afternoon, right, to satisfied my urge for some chocolate. As I head towards the back looking for a favorite Little Debbie cake (Swiss Rolls), I see a male friend. Let me tell you about this “friend.”

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Oh he’s alright if you like alright. But to me..it’s nothing.

Anyway, as I muffled my inward sound of delight over my Swiss Rolls, I said hello to nothing, walked to the counter to pay for my chocolate, decided to buy a banana to quiet my conscience, stood in line. And then it happened.

Nothing said to me “I don’t see why you’re buying that cake, since you’re already sweet.” Now. I know what you’re thinking, that I blushed, and nearly dropped my cake and banana all because a nothing said something to me. Nope! I paid for my stuff, walked out.

It seems to me that when a man commends a woman (I’m just assuming that’s what it was), she’s supposed to feel admired, loved, etc. Oh I’m sure some commendation is necessary and real. But this was coming from a 60+ man!

I feel that if you want to talk to me then please do it right! It’s called doing it CORRECT! Just talk to me! There’s no need to come off like you’re scared outta your pants therefore appearing like you’re twenty or something.

Just talk to me. For anything outside of that, you know what it means to me?

NOTHING.
